Glutathione (GSH) Research Compound — Buy Reduced L-Glutathione (≥98% Purity)
Glutathione (L-γ-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine, GSH, CAS 70-18-8) is the most abundant intracellular antioxidant tripeptide in mammalian biology, present at millimolar concentrations in most cell types. As the body’s primary redox buffer, GSH is central to cellular defense against oxidative damage, free radical scavenging, xenobiotic detoxification, and immune signaling. PureBond’s reduced glutathione meets ≥98% purity standards for demanding research applications.
Mechanism of Action
Glutathione acts as a direct free radical scavenger and as a cofactor for glutathione peroxidases (GPx) and glutathione S-transferases (GST). The GSH/GSSG redox couple maintains the intracellular reducing environment. GSH also conjugates with reactive electrophiles for hepatic detoxification, participates in leukotriene synthesis, and is required for regeneration of other antioxidants including vitamins C and E. Glutathione depletion is implicated in a wide range of disease states.

Storage & Handling
Store glutathione at −20°C under inert gas or vacuum seal. Reduced glutathione is susceptible to air oxidation — minimize exposure to oxygen during weighing and reconstitution. Prepare working solutions fresh for time-sensitive assays. Use HPLC-grade or ultrapure water for reconstitution.
For in-vitro laboratory research use only. Not for human or animal consumption. Not a drug, supplement, or medicinal product.
